Info-Point Now Installed in Church and Village Hall

Enhance your visit through your smartphone

To help our visitors, as part of our National Lottery Heritage Funded re-ordering we have installed a system called ‘Info-Point’ in both the church and the village hall. Anyone visiting us who has a smartphone or other web-browsing device can connect to its local Wi-Fi signal and access a wide range of content. You can take a historical tour of the church, read about our WW1 story and the war graves, understand the ‘God’s Acre’ churchyard wildlife project, download walks and rambles, and get our latest events programme. There is a special section with interactive games for children, and a comprehensive and downloadable illustrated walk around the village - all for free.

The Info-Point system is a new way of using web technology that is used by heritage organisations around the country. The hardware generates a Wi-Fi signal along with its own ‘off-grid’ web site. It does not connect to the public web, but it does use standard web technology, so is accessible by any web-browsing device, and it is completely safe, open, and free to use - it cannot affect your data allowance. You simply connect to the ‘Info-Point’ Wi-Fi signal and either scan the QR code or type the number 10.0.0.1 into your browser address bar.

Detailed instructions are available in the church, and on the village hall notice board.
